Cycling from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, the furthest possible distance in the British Isles, is a classic challenge that many dream of.
Hadrian’s Wall originally ran from coast to coast and spanned 72 miles. Today we are left with only sections of this famous landmark, which cuts through the beautiful Northumberland National Park and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Scottish Highlands are full of enchantment and ancient history. You will be overwhelmed by the increasing sense of remoteness and the unspoilt environment as we leave the lowlands en route to our start point.
The Jurassic Coast is England’s first natural World Heritage Site and the landscapes are truly breathtaking. Our trek starts at Durlston Head, on the cliffs above Swanage on Dorset, and we head west along the South West Coastal Path, trekking 23 miles over our strenuous weekend.
This is no cruise – this is a tough-round-the –clock –challenge in all weathers, sleeping and working in shifts. If you want to achieve something totally different, this is the trip for you!
We trek in Britain’s newest National Park from Lewes along the South Downs to the Seven Sisters series of hilly cliff, finishing at Beachy Head. The biggest hills come in the first half of the day, followed by outstanding views across the Downs and the English Channel.
The magnificent prehistoric stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge need little introduction. We start in atmospheric Avebury, where we can get up close to the ancient stones before heading via the famous ancient landmark of Silbury Hill to Stonehenge.
From the village of Cheddar we loop up through the Mendip Hills, via Cheddar Gorge and Wells to Glastonbury Tor. A great opportunity to walk in this rural area of rural Somerset, passing through many places of interest along the way with a nice steep finish to the top of the Tor!
This Trekathon takes us from Winchester’s historic Cathedral to the magnificent 13th Century Salisbury Cathedral. We pass through picturesque English countryside along the ancient Clarendon Way heading west through farmland, ancient woodland, chalk valleys and quiet villages.
